Our team features proven leadership and management, along with a deep roster of solar and energy efficiency industry leaders and subject matter experts. Our team is highly accredited and recognized in both the solar and energy efficiency industries. As a collective group, our team has led and installed over 7000 solar PV systems totaling more than 30MW. As a group, our sales team has sold over 200MW of solar solutions. Additionally, our team has led and or installed over 1200 projects encompassing solar thermal, green building and green retrofits. We feature the deepest, most talented team in the industry.

 Janet Hughes has 35 years of electrical and business experience, and 25 years involvement with the solar industry. Her experience in solar began in the late 80’s in New Mexico and continued in Texas where I played a key role in the development of the state’s solar industry and Austin Energy’s solar incentive program. Her background in solar has included sales, estimation, design, installation, project management, commissioning, consultation, training, and solar curriculum development for residential, commercial, and utility scale projects.

Experience highlights include:

 16 years of electrical contracting

 16 years as a Master Electrician

 10 years of solar contracting

 11 years of solar instruction

 4 years of instructor training

 3 years as a IREC ISPQ Master Trainer

 Richard Stovall, is an experienced solar educator and PV systems design and installation professional. Richard has developed curriculum and provided training for more than 3,000 solar students (mainly electricians and firefighters) in the last four years. Richard is the CEO and a founder of SolPowerPeople, Inc. He holds a M.B.A. with a Technology Management focus from the University of Phoenix, a B.A. in Business Administration from Saint Edwards University and an Institutional Certificate in Renewable Energy from the Austin Community College. Richard is an ISPQ Certified Affiliated Master Trainer and has the distinction of being the only person in Texas and the first of four people in the world to have all three of NABCEP’s (North American Board of Certified Energy Practitioners) solar certifications: Solar PV Installer, Solar Thermal Installer, and PV Technical Sales Professional. In addition he has acted as a NABCEP Solar PV Installer Technical Committee member.


Dallas Jones, is a nationally recognized educator and developer of education materials, with 20+ years and 6,000+ hours of classroom teaching experience.  Dallas has developed online training curriculum for more than a dozen courses on topics related to energy efficiency, building analysis, and building performance.  He serves on the RESNET Training and Education Committee, and served as team leader for the development of the RESNET Chapter 7 Energy Audit Standards and EnergySmart Contractor Guidelines. His certifications include: HERS Rater, Rater Trainer, BPI Building Analyst, BPI Building Envelope Specialist, BPI Approved Field Examiner, BPI Certified Quality Assurance Inspector, ASNT Level 1 Certified Thermographer, and NEHA Certified Radon Measurement and Mitigation Specialist and Educational Instructor.

The Institute of Technology has partnered with Missouri Sun Solar, LLC to provide internship and employment to graduates of the Solar Installation and Solar Sales Training Programs.  Missouri Sun Solar will have to triple its current workforce in order to keep up with the demand due to business expansion and opportunity's.  We are looking to add at least full time 70 jobs by years’ end and first quarter of 2014 with starting salary range of $13-$25 per hour.
